David 8 is one of the best A.I. Characters in a movie since HAL9000! I honestly think he deserves some recognition in the Best Supporting Actor category come award season
I know he felt to me like the love child of Ash from Alien and Bishop from Aliens (Call from Alien Resurrection does not count as to me Alien ended at Aliens 3, In short a Trilogy), I knew he would be the most awesome character the moment I first saw him in the movie doing stuff while everyone's still sleeping (I didn't aee any of the ads so the first time I knew he existed was in the movie itself), But other then being like a mix of Ash and Bishop, David was his own character, I hope his actor gets an Award or is nominated for BSA and hope to see him again in the sequel (Hope he doesn't suffer Bishops fate in Alien 3 in Prometheus 2)
Oh definitely. Michael Fassbender's performance brought to life a character akin to HAL9000- that is something I never thought a human could perfectly capture in a physical performance, but he did it. That sense of his developing sentience, how he seemed to be developing his sense of self. It was a performance that seriously should be considered for Best Supporting Actor.
I do hope he sticks through the whole trilogy. He has so many possibilities. At the end of Prometheus he is free of the leash held by Weyland and hopefully we'll see him continue developing as an individual intelligence.
David and Shaw I think have potential to make a great pair for what Ridley Scott and his writers have in store.
I haven't seen it yet.
First of all, "Prometheus" is not out in Argentina yet.
Second, even after it's out, I'm waiting until the Winter Vacation (your Summer Vacation) for me to watch it.
After I watch, I'll make a Tohou Talk reviewing it, and I'll tell you what I think.
