True dat! I've never been into those (I admit) extremely well drawn pictures of actors. OR PHOTOS I SHOULD SAY.

If you do some, you'll need various reference to be able to draw something new. Not just pick a classic photo and copy it.

Well, so did I, when I was like, 13. I got over it.

And I've just stopped with the fanart mainly because I work slowly, and I usually rather waste my time on original pieces. XD I haven't got anything against it, as long as it's with good taste.

And yes,celebrity drawings make me pissed, too. I mean, it's not WRONG to draw them, but just copying off a picture and calling it 'art' is boring [also a reason for me not liking that Nixa shot I did]. It's okay to do that, but people shouldn't call it art.
[This is also why I didn't really like getting front page for my Hannibal piece, but, well, it was part of my final art project for school (painted portraits for all the fictional serial killers that inspire me. Drawing Antony Hopkines was TOO obvious.)]

I admit I've had my yaoi phase xDD
But yeah - you're completely right there.

I also admit I LIKE doing fanart. Or designing some, at least (It's good practice for future precise comissioners IMO).
But I just feel a little bit cheap when posting that kinda stuff... : P

I do have one Dethklok fanart on the way, also an image of Toshiro Mifune (Yojimbo, The Seven Samurai). But I'm not drawing just to get gazillionbillionmillion viewers go "Cute" or "Kool"! ><
